"Enlightenment is the ego's ultimate disappointment" Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche
The ego plays an important part in shaping our personality, but it can be troublesome; primarily, because the ego wants us to look good and to be right all the time. No one looks good all the time, nor are we always right! We are all human.
Egos are an important part of our personality and play a crucial role in basic survival. They are a powerful basic instinct, but at times they can be counterproductive.

"There's someone in my head, but it's not me." Roger Waters
There is a voice inside everyone's head that is constantly talking. It never stops: Always chattering away, every minute of our waking hours. This is known as our "Self-Talk" or "Internal Monologue".
No one else ever hears this internal voice but us. We are the sole listeners to our self-talk.
What our self-talk repeatedly says to us and how we respond to it, has a big influence on our life.
Written and narrated by Dr Denis McBrinn
Resilience is the ability to recover and become stronger as a result of dealing with challenging and difficult events that all of us experience in our lives. This audio is designed to help you to develop a resilient mind-set and a resilient skill-set to help you to bounce back from life’s challenges.
With the relentless pace of change in our modern world our lives seem to becoming increasingly complex. Because of the ecological, social, economic and political challenges in today’s world, as well as our own personal issues, it is essential that we learn to develop this vital quality of resilience.
Like many important human qualities, some people seem to be born with resilience and others have learned to become more resilient. Is resilience just a natural gift some people are lucky enough to have or can it be nurtured?
Research shows that all of us have the potential to adapt, learn and grow out of any situation, including the most horrifying and traumatic of events. Resilience can be learned, developed and strengthened and you can teach it to others.
Resilience is an inner quality that can only develop as a consequence of difficult times in our lives. It is impossible to become resilient without challenges. The challenging and difficult experiences of our lives present us with the opportunity to grow in character and become resilient. The good times don’t give us that opportunity. It is only in the “School of Hard Knocks” and the “Classroom of Adversity” that we can learn the lessons of resilience and bounce back.
Looking at the lives of highly resilient people it is clear that qualities such as courage; belief; hope; perseverance, acceptance; forgiveness and compassion are central to their success. This tells us that it is “inner qualities that transformed their lives and we came learn from their experience. Simply put, resilience is about building the inner strength to deal effectively with the stresses, trials and difficulties of life and to grow from the experience. We become more resilient when we learn to understand the spiritual, intangible, concepts of courage, faith, love, hope etc. and put them into practice in our daily lives.
This short audio presentation is designed to bring a clear understanding of what being true to yourself means, and to lead you gently into reflection on how your true self can bring clarity to your daily living and the realisation that: To be true to others, you must start by being true to yourself. Once you are true to yourself, you’re also true to other people. "May the True, Higher Self Within - Always Guide You" Krishna Our true self is the soul of being.

"Once I had money and I spent every dime, still I'm richer by far with a satisfied mind"
When we think of abundance and prosperity in our lives we usually think of wealth and material things.
But the word prosperity comes from the Latin meaning "to live in hope".
True prosperity results from living with an attitude of hope and faith in finding abundance: Abundance, not just in material things but also in health and in spirit.
This short audio presentation is designed to bring a clear understanding of what self-esteem is, how to develop it, and to give you an opportunity to focus and reflect on the level of self-esteem currently in your life.
"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" Eleanor Roosevelt
The word esteem derives from the Latin meaning "to estimate".
Self-esteem is about how we estimate or regard ourselves and the beliefs we have about ourselves.
It is related to the type of person we think we are; our values; skills and abilities.
Esteem is associated with our sense of accomplishment.
By Sarah Connor and narrated by Sara Dylan.
In seeking answers to many of life’s questions, the great teachers have talked about “going inward”. For example, “the kingdom of God is within you” Luke 17:21” and “Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” Buddha.
They refer to a Divine Power within that can bring about transformation in our lives once we know it and trust it. Having an “Inner Life” can be taken to mean, seeking to relate to the mysterious creative intelligence that flows through the universe, and is the key to developing our true potential. The creative force in the universe has been termed many things; some call it God, Allah, Yahweh, Tao, Brahma, Buddha, Spirit, Higher Power, The Source, The Presence, Mother Nature etc. Choose the terminology that you are most familiar and comfortable with.
Having an inner life can be associated with religious belief or spirituality, but not exclusively. Developing an inner life is about being open to experiences and forces that could be influencing our destiny. It is recognising that the door to higher levels of awareness opens inward and being open to the non-physical and mysterious elements in creation. It is about searching for and finding meaning and purpose in an apparently imperfect world and using this knowledge to create happy and fulfilling lives for ourselves and others.
This audiobook will help you to take time to think about some of those less tangible aspects of life that could contribute to your overall level of happiness and contentment: Your “Inner Life” - Faith, courage, prayer and meditation, sense of wonder, serving others, integrity, values, and peace of mind.
By Dr Denis McBrinn; narrated by Sara Dylan.

What is intuition? How does it arise in our lives? How do we develop it?
Derived from the Latin word Intueri, it means “to look within".
Intuition is our inner wisdom that develops from awareness of the "unseen and hidden". Intuition lies within our subconscious. Intuition is like whispered guidance from our soul.
